Howard Jackson Obituary
Howard Jackson also known as "Action Jackson' was a loving Husband, Father, Brother, Son and Friend.
Throughout his lifetime, he was a "Larger than Life" person, who never met a stranger. He had a great love for all kinds of music and grew up playing drums and singing in garage bands in the Memphis Area, several of which were The Barons and The Tight Little Unit. He loved the Memphis Tigers and tried to attend all of their football game and if he couldn't attend, he was right there in spirit yelling at the tv screen. Howard also had a love for the game of golf, that his father had instilled in him from a very young age. One of his proudest accomplishments was coaching all of our three sons in T-ball up through their baseball years, he sure was tough on those boys and yelled a lot, but he loved them all dearly and wouldn't change a thing about his coaching style. Another thing I'd like to add, he had this love/hate relationship with Alexa – he would ask for a certain song and she would just ignore him, he would ask for volume 10 and she wouldn't budge, but they had many days and nights of shared songs and harmonica playing.
Howard graduated from Messick High School in 1967 and has close lifelong friends forever by his side. He also attended Memphis State University.
Howard worked for A S Barbaro (Miller Lite) in the late 70's having Overton Square as his route of choice and his source of daily entertainment from the locals of the neighborhoods to the bartenders. He later joined D Canale Beverages until his retirement in 2011.
Howard loved his wife and sons and when those grandkids came around, he was a proud Pops!
Howard leaves his wife of 47 years, Maria, His Son Jeremy Jackson & his wife Jennifer of Coldwater Ms. and His Son Drew Jackson of Collierville Tn. He also leaves his grandchildren Patience Jackson of Atoka Tn, Savannah Jackson and Jaden Jackson of Boise Id, Presley and Walter Jackson of Hernando Ms. and Ruby Jackson of Collierville Tn and soon to arrive Kennedy Jackson of Collierville Tn. He also leaves his brother Walter Jackson of Thailand and his sister Roberta Jolly (Bill) of Hernando Ms. He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
He is preceded in death by his Mother Beverly Stuber Jackson, his father Walter Jackson, His sister Beverly Petty, His son Howard Jeffrey Jackson and his Son Walter Salvador Jackson.
