Jimmie Lamar Trammell Sr.

Jimmie Lamar Trammell, Sr. (1935-2025) Jimmie Trammell, age 90 of Olive Branch, MS, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on September 13th, 2025. He was born on June 27th, 1935, in Memphis, TN, to parents Hazel A. Robinson and Jimmy F. Trammell. In 1953, he married the love of his life, Shirley, who he spent 54 loving years with. He worked for the city of Memphis as a housing inspector for 29 years. He also worked for Ferrell Paving for 43 years, beginning as a part-time employee and shifting to full-time. After retirement, he dedicated his time to being an amazing Papaw. He loved to spend his free time watching Alabama football, keeping up with Cardinals baseball, and hanging out with his four-legged buddy, Saban. Jimmie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Trammell; his parents, Hazel Robinson and Jimmy F. Trammell; his brother, Eugene Trammell; his sister, Virginia Weldon; his grandson, Brad Trammel; and his great-grandson, David Trammell. He is survived by his children, Sharon Wootten (Kelly) and Jimmy Trammell Jr (Donna); his granddaughter, Jordan Wootten; and his great-grandsons, Ashton and Luke Trammell. There will be a visitation on Friday, September 19th at 9 am, and the service to celebrate his life will begin at 10 am. Both will be at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park East.
