Jo Anne Sudekum Obituary

Jo Anne Sudekum, age 74, of Southaven, Mississippi passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024.

Jo Anne was born in Memphis on April 25, 1949, the only child of the late Charles Aubrey & Josephine Goudy Tavel. She graduated from Memphis Central High School in 1967. She then attended and received her bachelor's degree in English from Memphis State University. While there she met her soon to be husband William "Bill" Sudekum.

Jo Anne traveled the United States and the world during Bill's career in the United States Air Force. Her own career saw her managing ladies clothing and boutique stores. She also taught preschool and was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church.

Mrs. Sudekum is survived by her husband of 52 years William Anthony Sudekum, Jr.; her son Bradley (Ana) Allan Sudekum; and grandchildren Kate, Jake, Tori and Dean all of Georgia.

Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, January 31 from five o'clock until eight o'clock in the evening at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38119. Graveside services will be Thursday, February 1 beginning at two o'clock in the afternoon in Memorial Park Cemetery. Procession to the cemetery will leave Memphis Funeral Home around 1:45 p.m.
