Mark Furr Obituary

Mark Alan Furr was born on April 11, 1964 in Memphis, TN.

The 4th son of Donald E. Furr Sr. and Amelia Glynn Furr, Mark spent much of his childhood in Arkansas and moved back to Memphis in his early 20's. From a young age, Mark's passion in life was music-joining many local Memphis bands as lead singer, including local legend YBnormal. His ferocious stage presence and powerful voice helped the band grow quite the following. Along with music, Mark was an extraordinary artist and fantastic with his hands. He worked various jobs, including working with his brother Don at Exhibit A as a graphic designer, photographer, model builder, and more. Mark was creative, talented, and funny with a silly streak that would get a room giggling in no time. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Mark is survived by his children, Morgan Hibbs (Chris Hibbs), Madison Furr, and Sam Furr; his grandchildren, Baker Hibbs and Banks Hibbs; his brothers, Don Furr Jr. (Karen Furr) and Tom Furr (Sue Furr); his partner in life, Lisa Coletta; and a hoard of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Donald E. Furr Sr. and Amelia Glynn Furr; and his brother Richard McCracken.

Mark passed away peacefully at his residence on September 10, 2022.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Friday, September 16th, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Harvest Church, 3645 Forrest Hill Irene Rd. Germantown, TN 38138.
