Mary Kolwyck Obituary

Mary Catherine Kolwych, 73, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 26, 1952, Cathy lived a life filled with love, kindness, and generosity. She was known for her intelligence, compassion, and her unwavering devotion to the people she cared for most. Mary found her greatest joy in being with her family – attending grandchildren's sporting events, sharing laughter and stories, and spending peaceful days at the beach, her favorite place to relax and reflect. She is survived by her loving longtime partner, Steven Uchansky, her son, Johnny Kolwych, her daughter, Ashley Shellhart; her grandchildren, Tate Kolwych, Sydney Shellhart, Tyler Shellhart, and Lily Kolwych; and her great-grandchild, Gatlin Lee Shellhart. She also leaves behind her brothers, Austin Martin, John Martin, and Jim Martin, and her sisters, Janie Burks and Angie Scharfetter, who loved her dearly. Cathy will be remembered for her warm heart, gentle wisdom, and the light she brought to everyone who knew her. Her presence made every day brighter, and her legacy of love and kindness will live on through her family and friends. She will be forever missed.
