It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George Bruce "Buster" Woodmansee, who left this world on Sept. 22, 2025, at the age of 87. He was born on June 2, 1938, and raised in Pleasant Hope, by Ray and Hazel Woodmansee. Buster is a U.S. Air Force veteran. Buster lived a life rich in love, laughter, and dedication to his family and his boys, leaving behind a legacy that will not soon be forgotten.
Buster was a devoted husband, father, cherished friend, and a one-of-a-kind personality. Throughout the years, the one constant was his dry sense of humor, his passion for animals, the outdoors, gospel music and worshipping God, and the pride he took in his Tater Creek Bluetick Coonhounds. As a proud longtime salesman in the siding industry, he brought his craftsmanship and sense of know-how into every role he undertook. Those who knew him appreciated his quick wit and kind spirit, as well as the loyalty and dedication he offered to family and friends alike.
Buster was preceded in death by his parents; a son Jay Woodmansee; four brothers, Cecil, Coy, Ray Jr., and Clark Woodmansee; and three sisters, Betty Ayres, Dorothy Clark, and Jo Ellen Skelley.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 45 years, Barbara; his four sons, Bruce Woodmansee (Christine), Dr. Ray Woodmansee (Dr. Marla), Jeffery Woodmansee, and Joseph Woodmansee; eight grandchildren, Gabriel, Daniel, Brooklyn, Nathan, Lydia, Caitlyn, Jaidyn, and Jeffery "Gavin" Woodmansee; his siblings, Johnnie Woodmansee (Carol), Bonnie Sigman, and Raydene Woodmansee; as well as many other relatives and friends, who will forever cherish
their time together.
A visitation will be held in honor of Buster on Sunday, Sept. 28, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Pitts Chapel. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. at the funeral home to celebrate his remarkable life. Buster will find his final resting place at a serene spot in New Bethel Cemetery Halfway,where friends and family are invited to remember him in peace.
