Nancy Record Obituary

Nancy Ellen Record, a beloved mother, friend and neighbor passed away at Methodist Hospital Germantown on September 19, 2025, following a brief illness. She was 71 years old. Nancy will be remembered for her devotion to her two children, her support and advocacy of the rights of the handicapped, her love of nature and animals, and her joy in taking her pets to the Shelby Farms Dog Park regardless of weather conditions.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Allison Schulze, Sr. and Dorothy Marie Guy Schulze of Wilmington, DE. She is survived by her brother, Dr. Robert Allison Schulze, Jr., M.D. of Columbia, S. Carolina and her sister, Sally Schulze Kanipe of Okahumpka, Florida, and their families, and her twin children, Walter ("Wally") Ross Record and Alexandra ("Alex") Jackson Record, both of Germantown, TN.

Nancy spent her early years in Delaware and later attended American University where she earned her bachelor's degree. She went on to become an advocate in the field of Public Policy in Washington, D.C. and later moved to Memphis/Germantown which became her home in 1994. She continued her work in Memphis in the nonprofit world until her retirement, and served as a volunteer with the neighborhood Home Owners Association; and devoted endless energy promoting the rights of the handicapped for the children and adults with special needs to reach their full potential and happiness.

Nancy always enjoyed her neighbors, her garden, her walks, and her outings to Shelby Farms Park. There will be a small private celebration of life.

Any memorials may be made to Shelby Farms Park to support its Park Outback Off-Leash Dog Park that has been voted the number one dog park in the country by USA Today.
