Jo Record Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Haven of Rest Funeral Home, Cemetery, Crematory - Gig Harbor on Feb. 6, 2026.
With a twinkle in her eye and a heart full of love, Jo Ann Record, a resilient woman with a knack for making every room she entered a little bit brighter, ended her earthly journey on December 19, 2025. Jo Ann, a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, held her family close to her heart, making every gathering, be it a holiday or a random Tuesday, a special event. She was known as the queen of family events, her kitchen always buzzing with the delicious smells of her latest culinary creation. It was in this space that Jo Ann would weave her magic, her love seeping into every dish she cooked, every story she told, every memory she helped create.

Born with a spirit that was as lively as it was loving, Jo Ann was a woman who wore many hats with ease. She was a master knitter, a title she wore with pride. Her knitting needles danced in her hands, crafting beautiful pieces that were as warm as the hugs she gave. Jo Ann also held a special place in her heart for the family beach cabin, a sanctuary where she cherished the company of her loved ones. She proudly carried her Norwegian heritage, her stories and traditions a testament to her roots.

Jo Ann is survived by her sons, Christopher, Todd, and Duane Reese, and her grandchildren, Amanda Chang, Kyle, Alexander, and Nicholas Reese. As much as she will be missed by her family, Jo Ann will be welcomed with open arms by those who preceded her in death; her partner Tom Morris, her mother Evelyn Winch, her step-father James Winch, and her sister Nancy Wasser. Jo Ann's life will be celebrated on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 1:00 pm PST at Haven of Rest Funeral Home, Crematory, and Memorial Park, located at 8503 Washington 16, Gig Harbor, Washington, 98332.

In memory of Jo Ann, we encourage you to leave your personal memories and upload photos on her memorial page. Let's remember her as she was; resilient, dedicated, loving, and funny.
