Sean Deeney Obituary

Sean Patrick Deeney, beloved son, brother, father, husband, and friend, passed from this life on June 12, 2023. He was 45.

Born on May 31, 1978, to Donna (nee Simpson) and Vincent Deeney at K. I. Sawyer Air Force Base, Michigan, Sean grew up in a military family with his three siblings Colleen, Tara, and James. Growing up with his father in the Air Force, Sean experienced the thrill and excitement of living in many different places throughout his childhood. He was blessed with the ability to adapt easily to change, always making new friends wherever his family settled, thriving in whatever new city the family landed. Sean and his siblings were a package deal. They grew up together as the best of friends; built-in playmates and confidants whose bond remained unbreakable throughout his life.

When Sean's father retired from the Air Force in 1990, the family settled in New Orleans, LA. Here, Sean attended grade school at St. Catherine of Siena in Metairie. He settled in and quickly made many new friends in typical Sean Deeney fashion. He then attended Jesuit High School in New Orleans where he was well-liked by everyone, admired the intellectualism of the Jesuits, and met lifelong friends there.

From there, Sean went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Logistics and Transportation from the University of Tennessee, where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order, through which he gained numerous lifelong friendships. He absolutely loved his alma mater. Sean was a fiercely loyal Tennessee ""Vols"" fan, and he never missed watching his beloved team play.

It was also at the University of Tennessee where Sean met his first wife and the mother of his children, Catherine. Sean and Catherine were married for 12 years. They brought two beautiful daughters into the world together, and raising the girls together was their top priority. They continued to give their girls the love and support they needed to become the amazing young ladies they are today.

Sean enjoyed a successful career in medical sales, and he was a natural when it came to doing this job well. His charming personality and strong work ethic made him an excellent sales representative. He truly enjoyed his work and achieved success while working for companies like UroLift, Medtronic, and most recently Relievant Med Systems.

Sean embarked on what was a beautiful new chapter in his life on November 26, 2022. On that day, he married Erin Elizabeth Pierce. Their love and friendship was unwavering, and it flowed generously into the lives of Sean's daughters. The love Erin and Sean shared for each other was unmatched. She was the love of his life.

Sean was a beautiful human being. He gave and received love easily and freely. He emitted joy to anyone within reach. He fought hard, but his struggles will not define him. He will be remembered for his ability to give to others, his desire to help anyone who needed it, his amazing capacity for love, and the humor and laughter he brought into all our lives.

Sean is survived by his wife Erin (nee Pierce), daughters Anna Catherine Deeney and Mary Camille Deeney, his parents Donna (nee Simpson) and Vincent Deeney, his siblings Colleen Moore and husband Peter, Tara Deeney, James Deeney and wife Kathryn, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.

A mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 3863 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN, on Thursday, June 22nd at 10:00 a.m.

Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to James and the entire Deeney family. Sean was indeed a light to others in this world. His laughter, smile and wit will surely be missed. Sean was larger than life and we will always remember not so much his words but how he made us feel. Life was always better when Sean was involved. May the Lord help ease the pain of all Sean's loved ones who will miss him.

Lane developed such a good work friendship with Sean that it quickly developed into a personal friendship with he and Erin. Lane & Sean felt like they had been long time friends. We have such a great recent memory in May, spending the weekend in Nashville at the Billy Joel & Stevie Nicks concert. Sean always had a smile on his face and was such a generous person. Erin, he loved you so much and felt so lucky to have you as his wife. If you knew Sean then you knew about his girls. His girls meant the world to him. Sean, you will forever be missed and loved by many!

Sean was a beautiful soul who loved fiercely & had great passion. His greatest passion was for his daughters. My heart aches at the loss of Sean, but even more for Anna & Camille. I know this time is difficult & incomprehensible. Just know that he loved you more than anything & you were his proudest accomplishments.
Sean's memory will burn bright in all who knew & loved him.

My deepest sympathies to the Deeney family for the tragic loss of a husband, father, son, and brother. I´ve been fortunate to work with Sean at his past two companies and always enjoyed his kind spirit and smile that could light up a room. He was a valued employee and friend to many at both Neotract and Relievant and will be greatly missed. Having had prior faith based conversations with Sean over the years, I am comforted with the assurance of his eternal salvation. Until we meet again Sean... until we meet again.

I did not have many interactions with this man personally. The few times I did see him though, were great times I won´t forget. He had a contagious smile and knew how to make others happy. When I would teach his daughter lessons, he always insisted on tipping me generously, even though it wasn't common to do so. He recognized work ethic and I will always appreciate that. I know his daughters and anyone who knew him well, will spread love, kindness, and laughter, just as he did.

I was blessed to have met Sean at NeoTract training in 2019. Our friendship strengthened over the years as we shared common interests of college football, golf, and family. Sean was the definition of an all around, stand up guy. His sincere dimeanor, charm and amazing sense of humor will never be forgotten. I will forever cherish our many phone calls to talk work, life, and sports. I will cherish the amazing round of golf in Santa Barbara. I will cherish the laughs and good times at our National meetings. I will always view you as a brother and will miss you dearly. I pray that Erin, the girls and family find strength and love during this very difficult time. Rest in peace my good friend.

Miss his smile, his boots, his buckle, his every event sports jacket. I´ll miss his business savy and his "on the road" ribbing. Sean was loved and my love goes out to Erin, the girls and family. Sean was a once in a lifetime friend. May peace of heart be with us all. Camp A
