Sherry C. Oliphant

1945 - 2025

Sherry C. Oliphant, born in Mississippi on September 8, 1945, passed peacefully into Glory at her home on August 27, 2025. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose life was marked by love, faith, and quiet strength.

Sherry is survived by her devoted daughter Kelly Oliphant-Wright (Mark Wright); cherished granddaughters Emily and Annabelle Wise; her loving sister Marilyn Harris; nieces Christie Rowland, Cindi Lovelace, Joan Cole Harris; nephew Steve Harris; and many other family members and friends who were blessed by her presence.

Though she briefly worked as a secretary and a realtor, Sherry's true calling was caring for and loving those around her. Her journey of devotion began when she married a young pharmacist from Chattanooga, Woody Oliphant. Together they built a life filled with love and faith, raising a daughter and two sons. Sherry poured her heart into nurturing her children, encouraging them, and teaching them about Jesus.

Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. Through Women's Ministry, Sherry served faithfully for over 20 years as a group leader and prayer warrior. She was known for her dependability, thoughtfulness, and kindness-qualities that touched everyone she met.

Sherry also had a special place in her heart for her dogs, who were constant companions and even joined her and Woody during their cherished years at their Florida condo.

Her legacy is one of quiet grace, unwavering faith, and deep love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Celebration of Life Services for Sherry will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Hope Church, 8500 Walnut Grove Road, Cordova, TN 38018.
