One of the best people I ever drank coffee with. He was a genuine man

I remember Coach Nix from my short time at CBHS.
He was an impressive man who literally was a genuine teacher, coach, leader, and mentor. He treated all of us students as human beings with the same respect you showed him. He expected 100% of us because he expected it of himself. He expected humility because he expected it of himself.
I never heard him speak in a loud angry voice. He didn't need to. You made every attempt to hear even his lowest whisper. His counsel was of pure wisdom. Solid, to the point and you got the message in it's entirety. Not because you had to but because you wanted to!
Any words I offer will be grossly insufficient to pay tribute to this great man. I can only offer the words of Albert Einstein in his tribute to Gandhi. They are appropriate for Coach Nix:
"Generations to come, it may well be, will scarce believe that such a man as this one ever in flesh and blood, walked upon this Earth.
God now has one of the finest men to ever have earned the title "Coach."
My deepest sympathy to his family. We all loved the man very deeply also.
