Blanche Gault Obituary

Blanche Pauline Gault, surrounded by her loving family, passed peacefully in her Oakland, California home on Wednesday, July 28, 2004.Known throughout her life as Paulie, she was born in Kansas City, Kansas on July 27, 1917 to August and Carolyn Hurst Mears. Paulie married James Melvin Gault, a carer accountant, in 1940 and together they had three sons. In 1957, the family moved to Phoenix, Arizona, and subsequently Sun City where they resided until Mel's passing in 1998. The following year, Paulie moved to California allowing her to be closer to her children and grandchildren.A devoted and beloved wife, mother, homemaker, and caregiver, Paulie is survived by her three sons: James Larry Gault of Oakland, California; Kenneth Roger Gault and his wife Roxanne of Piedmont, California; and Melvin Randall Gault and his wife Denise of Carmel, California; and her two grandchildren: Courtney Ali Gault of San Francisco, California and Scott Hunter Gault of Piedmont, California.Paulie touched all who knew her with her generosity, her sense of humor and fun, and her loving ways. A gracious and dignified woman, Paulie was well loved and respected and will always be remembered.In accordance with Paulie and Mel's last wishes, private arrangements have been made at the Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City, Arizona.
