Cecil Elliott Obituary
Born on July 2, 1937, Cecil lived a life marked by hard work, faith, and deep devotion to his family. He married the love of his life, Elizabeth Ann "Betsy" Elliott, on November 15, 1957, and together they shared a beautiful life filled with laughter, love, and service to others.
Cecil was a proud and loyal employee of Bowater, where he dedicated 45 years of his life. His work ethic, integrity, and quiet strength earned him the respect of his colleagues and community alike. Beyond his career, Cecil was a devoted member of Sewee Church of God, where his faith guided his every step.
He is survived by his son, Jeff Elliott; daughter, Kim Elliott Driver and husband, Michael; and grandchildren: Natasha Calhoun and husband, Jordan; Cody Elliott and wife, Anna; Kyndal Barker and husband, Kendall; and Eli Driver. Cecil was also a proud great-grandfather to Harrison Calhoun, Hayes Calhoun, Justin Elliott, and Thompson Elliott - each of whom brought him immense joy. 1 brother, Donald Elliott.
Cecil was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betsy; his daughter, Susan Land; his parents, James Earl and Mary Glenna Carroll Elliott; and his siblings, Francis Crittenden, Louise Kennedy, Edward Elliott, Kenneth Elliott and Clifford Elliott.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Cecil's life at Sewee Church of God, with services held on Sunday, November 2, 2025. Burial will follow at Sewee Church Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Linda Parton officiating. The family will receive visitors beginning at 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Sewee Church of God.
Cecil will be remembered for his steady presence, his quiet humor, and the way he loved his family without reservation. His legacy of faith and devotion will live on in the generations who follow him.
