Clinton Eugene Slack, 72, of Englewood gained his Heavenly wings on May 20, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on Feb. 9, 1952, in Athens, a son of the late Paul and Anna Lou Slack. He was an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Army. Clinton was a longtime employee of E. Miller & G and G construction companies. He enjoyed working, cows, fishing, sitting on the porch, but most of all, spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Callie Slack and Henry and Dona Harris; father and mother-in-law, Charles and Delores Stiles; uncle, Sam Slack; and three brothers-in-law, Terry Seymour, Michael Stiles and Timothy Slack. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Angela Stiles Slack; six children, Carla Roberts, Renee Morgan (Charles), Robin Barnard (Jake), Brandon Slack (Robin), Samantha Ferry (Justin) and Johnathan Slack (Kenzi); 16 grandchildren, Hunter, Blake and Addison Jenkins, Lucas Barnard, Hannah and Kilah Stiles, Samuel, Michael, Holly and Charlie Slack, Issac, Heath and Zeppelin Ferry, Brayden Stiles, Cara Plaster and Catie Smith; three siblings, Pauline Smith (Jeff), Cathy Seymour and Arlin Slack (Deb); one brother-in-law, Ricky Stiles; one uncle, Walter Harris; one aunt, Mary Lynn Slack; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and other extended family members. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Athens Chapel of Companion Funeral Home, located at 400 S. White Street in Athens. A service celebrating his life will follow the visitation time at 7 p.m. with Brandon Slack officiating. The interment and committal service will take place on Thursday, May 23, at 11 a.m. in the Slack's Cemetery with Issac, Heath and Justin Ferry, Hunter and Blake Jenkins and Hunter Sisson serving as pallbearers. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:45 a.m. on Thursday morning.
