Everett H. "Cotton" Presswood, 82, of Benton departed this life peacefully on Feb. 15, 2022, with his loving family by his side. He was born on March 20, 1939, to the late Rassie and Mamie Lou Godfrey Presswood. Cotton was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother who cherished each moment spent with his family. A member of Cookson Creek Baptist Church, Happy Hearts, Bridgemakers, and a former Ruritan and Gideon, he loved life to the fullest. Some of his fondest memories include the many camping trips along with the countless miles traveled with his family. Cotton was dearly loved by everyone who knew him and will be deeply missed. In addition to his parents, Rassie and Mamie Lou Presswood, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Ruth Presswood; and brother, Bobby Presswood. Left to cherish the many memories include his loving wife, Shelby Townsend Presswood; beloved children, Michael (Sherry) Presswood and Mark (Tammy) Presswood; bonus children, Tony (Angie) Cummings, Selina (Brian) Davis, and Chris (Melissa) Cummings; grandchildren, Waylon Presswood and fiancée, Cassidy Colvin, Dillon (Courtney) Presswood, Colby Presswood, and Matt Presswood; bonus grandchildren, Josh Cross, Aaron (Cora) Cummings, Kaila (Dee) Stone, Lauren (Nathan) Dunn, Olivia Cummings, and Emma Cummings; great-grandson, Maverick Presswood; siblings, Patsy (Johnny) Raines and Brenda (Stan) Seiferth; numerous bonus great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. A Celebration of Life Service was conducted at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 18,, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Whitmore, Pastor Don Whitehead, and Pastor Scott Carden officiating. Family and friends gathered from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday prior to the service at the funeral home. A graveside committal service was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19, at Oak Grove Cemetery with Waylon Presswood, Dillon Presswood, Colby Presswood, Matt Presswood, Josh Cross, Aaron Cummings, Dee Stone, and Nathan Dunn serving as pallbearers.
