Adrian Wallen-Corton Obituary

Adrian Wallen-Corton, 67, passed away after a long battle with colon cancer on October 28, 2018. Adrian first came to Hampton in 1969. She was born on October 3, 1951 at Mitchell AFB in Hempstead N.Y., to Dr. Vincent and Phyllis Wallen. She was a graduate of Boston University in 1973 and received her Masters Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2008. She was a proud veteran of the United States Navy who worked on submarine electronic systems. After her service she became an auto mechanic. In her later years she furthered her education by attending the Riverside School of Nursing and graduating as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Adrian loved the outdoors. She loved the yearly crabbing and fishing on the Chesapeake Bay. She was an avid artist and was a regular at many art shows in the area. Adrian is survived by her daughter Gwendolyn Anne Corton of Richmond and her brother Lance Wallen of Hampton. According to her wishes she is to be buried at sea. The family also wishes to thank the personnel at the Hampton Veterans Hospital Hospice/Palliative care unit, who took such excellent care of her in her final days.
