Aleta Wise Obituary
The majority of her childhood was spent in Saluda and Matthews, Va., with her large extended family. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Antioch Baptist Church in Saluda,Va. Aleta received most of her education in the Middlesex County Public School System and was a 1976 high school graduate. In that same year, she married Truman Wise and moved to Newport News. This union produced two wonderful sons, Neval and Conan. In recent years Aleta became a devoted member of World Outreach Worship Center.
Survivors include her husband, Truman Wise of Gloucester; sons, Neval Wise of Williamsburg and Conan Wise of Portsmouth; parents, Thomas and Elizabeth Ward of Saluda; three brothers, Joseph Ward of Newport News, Dwayne Ward of Deltaville, and Juan Ward of Springfield; one sister, RenE Ward Best of Gainesville; mother-in-law, Nanny Wise of King and Queen; one brother-in-law; three sisters-in-law; and many other relatives.
Friends may visit from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Carter Funeral Home-Denbigh. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2008 at World Outreach Worship Center, 1233 Shields Road, Newport News, Va. Interment will follow at Windsor Gardens Cemetery,

Truman
I am so saddened to just learn of Aleta's passing. Even though our paths have not crossed in recent years, I have thought of her often as "my baby" has graduated and started her own career. We've been friends since the days of managing small children while volunteering for the Lamplighter Extension Club in Gloucester. The last time we spoke she was beaming with pride over her family's accomplishments. My prayers are with you and your family.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Mrs. Wise. Occasionally I saw and talk to her at her place of employment in Williamsburg. Your family was a neighbor that I rarely saw, but she and I always conversed and talked about our children when we saw each other. My prayers are with you.

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to all of Aleta's family. I met her and Truman at Abingdon Episcopal Church in Gloucester. I know the hurt that her passing has caused much pain on those who knew and loved her - but I do know that Aleta's faith in Christ has taken her to a much better place. She is smiling now!

I am so glad to have had the opportunity to know Aleta. She was truly a lady who loved the Lord and had faith in Him. I fondly remember how important it was to her to spread God's love to those who did not know Him. She often shared scriptures related to healing to those who were sick. She was a very special lady and I will miss her greatly!
