As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends. And knowing that he is forever in my heart. Thoughts from a fellow veteran.

Deacon Alvin Owens was a phenomenal man. I marveled at his genuine love for God, family, church and people. I will miss his nuggets of practical wisdom, prayers, and quick wit. May God grant comfort to family and friends as Deacon Owens sleeps in heavenly peace.

Deacon Alvin Owens was an inspiration to me during my time at the Gethsemane Baptist Church. He was a faithful servant of God and an example of a Godly man! I am so happy that I got to see him this summer after a very long time! He was loved, respected and appreciated by me! He will be missed! My condolences to the family. A soldier has gone home. RIP my friend!

A wealth of wisdom in times of struggle. Uncle Owens, you made the world a better place. Thank you for guidance. You left the same way, that you lived. Peacefully! May you rest now in the arms of our Almighty God. You finished the race. God bless your soul. I know that you are only a prayer away,
you will never be forgotten.
