Dr. Acosta was one of the finest in the medical world! He will be remembered dearly in the family of Linney R. White. He treated my father and my family with extraordinary care, and I will forever have fond memories of him. He is greatly admired too for his service in the U.S. Air Force. From the stories I heard, he was one of the best officers in the medical field! My husband and I both appreciate his tender medical care in his family practice. He will be missed.

The year was 1970 or 1971 and my family had just arrived in Hampton. I had a bike accident and Dr. Acosta took me in as his patient . I was just entering the 3rd grade. My foot healed and I continued to get my vaccinations etc. I remember his wife worked in the office and was always very nice to me. I never imagined that many decades later my husband and I would have the same medical office arrangement.

I met Dr. Acosta in 1978 because of an accident at work and he was the doctor i was sent too. I walked in the office on Todd's Lane and was greeted by two of most professional nurses (Jeane and Hazel.) I was hooked He was more than just a Doctor. He treated you like family. My family and I were patients of his.I had been with him for almost 36 years when he retired. I will always remember him telling me and my girls "A woman knows her body better than anyone". He will always be the Best Doctor to our Family. Thank you Jeane for sharing him with his patients. You and the family are in our prayers

It is with much heartfelt sympathy that I write this condolence...to Jeane, Carlitos, family, friends, and patients who have been touched by this loss. It is so hard to find the right words to say during this difficult time. What I can say is that I feel so blessed to have known such a wonderful doctor and human being. Carlos always had a smile and would lighten up any day. His love for his family, friends, and patients was always so genuine. His love for animals also was always so precious to me, especially his close bond with "Bear" his little Yorkie friend. "Bear" and Carlos were inseparable from the moment that they met. I will always treasure the fond memories of all my visits with him and Jeane, as all of us will. With deepest sympathy to all of you...Love, Karen

Jeane and family,

I first met Dr Acosta and Jeane at Windward Towers where I worked for many years. I then started going to his practice after following my doctor there. Dr. Acosta and Jeane were one of the nicest couple you could find. He will be greatly missed.

He was known as many things...Doctor, AF officer, golfer, friend, Latino, "his way or the highway," strict disciplinarian, hard worker, rum drinker, semi decent Spanish singer, dog lover, bad joke teller...but to me he was my Papa. Came to be my dad after the death of my biological father. He WAS my dad for 46 years. Always there, always with a loving hug, always with a gregarious laugh. Loved by his family and his patients adored him. Unfortunately for me I lost this man of mine. I always thought he was invincible, the man with nine lives. He endured a long 2 year battle with various medical ailments. None which I thought would take him this soon. I miss him terribly but know I will see him someday. I love you Papa!

Our prayers and condolences go out to Jeane and Dr. Acosta's family. I am here today because of Dr. Acosta's quick diagnoses of a brain tumor and immediately getting me into surgery with Dr. McAdam. We never minded visits to his office because he was not only our doctor, but we considered him our friend. He was our doctor for about 30 years, a real gentleman and the finest doctor. He will be in our hearts forever

Carlos was a true mentor and friend. He always had a ready smile and laugh. He taught me to develop the art of medicine when I was in med solo. He also took great care of my parents and brother. I truly enjoyed the times we played golf together. He will be sorely missed. He was one of a kind. God bless his family and loved ones.

Dr. Acosta saved my life when I was a younger woman. He said the right words, I listened, and changed my life forever. Dr. Acosta represented an era in medicine, where our doctors were our friends. Our advisors. He also represented an era where doctors entered the field of medicine by a special calling to help the human race, not for personal profit.
I trusted this man. His integrity was beyond reproach. I am honored to have known him, and his memory will remain in my heart forever.

Although I did not know Dr. Acosta, my parents spoke very highly of him and was saddened when he decided to retire. He took very good care of my parents and was always there to answer questions or have them come in if need be, and for that, I am grateful. My prayers and condolences to his family.

Though in my 60's now, I had always remembered the name Carlos Acosta, MD. I hadn't seen him since I was 18, but he saved my life when I was 17. He had me checked into the Hospital with severe lung issues and the nurses later told me that he practically stayed there checking on me through the night and before dawn the next morning. He is certainly in Heaven. I remembered him as a kind, caring and compassionate person. My condolences to his family and friends.

For Doctor Acosta's family: I am so very sad and sorry to hear of his passing. Dr. Acosta was my doctor for over 40 years until his retirement, and he literally saved my life two times. He was a brilliant doctor and very caring and compassionate for his patients. This world is so much poorer by his leaving, and Heaven has gained a healer to stand beside The Great Physician. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers.
