Clarita Haley Obituary

HAMPTON - Clarita C. Haley, age 92, passed away Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, in Gloucester, at the Gloucester House.
She was a resident of Hampton for 57 years and had lived in Gloucester for the past two years. She had worked for Crum's Bakery, of Hampton, as a bookkeeper, and retired after many years of dedicated service.

As a member of Central United Methodist Church, she was a member of the Robert Raikes Sunday School Class, the Central Joy Singers, held various officer's positions of the United Methodist Women, and was a member of the Charlotte Hudgins Circle. Her other interests led her to be a part of the Body Recall exercise class.
Preceding her in rest is her husband, Landon W. Haley.
Surviving members of her family include her daughter, Margaret Haley Ward and husband, Harry M., of Mathews and Charlottesville; sons, Warren Haley and wife, Helen of Gloucester, and Phil Haley and wife, Toni of Gloucester; grandchildren, Jeffery H. Mann, Amy F. Mann, Karen Hudgins, Susan Corson, Scott Haley, Phillip R. Haley, and Billy Haley; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Anna Byrd Williams of Alexandria.
A service celebrating Clarita's life, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, at Central United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Cheryl Harrison-Davidson presiding. Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Park.

Dear Phil and Toni,
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. She was always so sweet to me. She loved visiting with my girls and we would always stop and see her when we would go for walks. I know you will miss her greatly.
Love, Sandi

Clarita was always so special to me. From my times visiting Landon and Clarita and my cousins in Waynesboro to the times in Hampton. So often Clarita seemed more like an older sister to me than an aunt. She was always so special, kind, thoughtful, and helpful to me. My thoughts and prayers go out to Warren, Margaret, Phil, and their famlies. I love you all.
