David A. Stephenson
David Alan Stephenson, 50, of 225 College Avenue, Elizabethtown, died Saturday, March 27, 2004 in S. Londonderry Twp., Lebanon County.
Born in Harrisburg, PA, Mr. Stephenson was the son of Lillian Brame Stephenson of Hummelstown and the late David A. Stephenson.
He was married 27 years in September to Laurie Schantz Stephenson.
He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Elizabethtown; graduated from John Harris High School, Harrisburg in 1971; Elizabethtown College in 1975 and earned a MBA from the Pennsylvania State University in 1984. He was employed at Hershey Foods for 23 years serving most recently as Director of Commodity Operations; was chair of the budget committee and a member of the Board of the Cocoa Merchants Association and a member of the New York Board of Trade. Mr. Stephenson served as an adjunct professor and member of the Elizabethtown College International Business Executive Advisory Council.
At the time of his death, Mr. Stephenson was serving his first term as a member of the Elizabethtown Borough Council. Additionally, he was a member of Abraham C. Treichler Lodge 682 F&AM, Elizabethtown. An avid runner, Mr. Stephenson had participated in the Steamtown Marathon in Scranton, PA.
Surviving are his wife, Laurie Stephenson of Elizabethtown; his mother, Lillian Stephenson of Hummelstown; a daughter, Amanda Stephenson of Oakland, CA; his son, Daniel Stephenson, at home; and a sister, Barbara, wife of George Pikari of Kingwood, TX.
Graveside services will be held in Lock Haven, PA, at the convenience of the family.
The family request flowers please be omitted. Contributions may be made in his memory to David A. Stephenson Mathematics Scholarship Fund, c/o Elizabethtown College, One Alpha Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
