Don Hall Obituary

Don Carlos "Chip" Hall, VI, 63 passed away on January 18th, 2022. Chip was born November 18, 1958 in Moultrie, Georgia. He graduated from Old Dominion University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology Degree. Chip then moved to the Outer Banks of North Carolina to work for North Carolina Power. He has been a resident of Poquoson, Virginia for the last 26 years and worked at Huntington Ingalls in Engineering Design (Dept E-13) for 24 years. Chip is survived by his wife and love of his life, Terri DeRyder Hall, his son Brian Lee Hall, his parents Marcie and Don C. Hall V, his sisters Cindy Lee Hall and Pattie Anne Drake and many other loving family and friends. Chip enjoyed many hobbies such as boating, fishing, camping, scuba diving, and skiing. He also loved tending to his vast collection of tropical plants and gardens, finding different reptiles and bugs to add to the collection. He especially loved the beach and four-wheel driving with his family and friends.

Chip lived his life fearlessly and every day was a new adventure. He touched the lives of many people and his memory will live through all those that had the honor to know him. His stories brought people together and taught very valuable lessons.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, February 13th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hampton Yacht Club, 4707 Victoria Blvd, Hampton, VA 23669.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 500 Chicago Illinois, 60611 or via web address at https://app.mobilecause.com/vf/PFFTribute/ChipHall.

Chip will be missed. What an example of the human spirit in action. A loving member of his extended family.

Chip was (is) an incredible person, loving and kind - always ready to give a helping hand. He collected good friends just by being who he was, a man who cared and loved generously. You got 100% of him. As a little boy, he was so endearing. He loved to talk. Once when he was staying with his grandaddy he stopped his chatter, and grandaddy asked him if he was through talking. No, he said, I just need to get more spit in my mouth! I could go on and on - he was so loveable. Chip, I love you and will always miss you. You have earned your reward. Your sad aunt Anne.

My thoughts and prayers are with this family and friends. Through ODU Activities Programing Board, I was fortunate enough to have been blessed with meeting Chip. He was an amazing soul who will live on forever in our hearts. Adventures continue.
