Don was one of my dearest friends, especially early in our Airline Careers. He was a very competent Aviator, but more important, a wonderful person. Not many day go by without my thinking of him and the kindness he showed to everyone he met. just a great guy and greater friend. Miss him very much.

Don was a good pilot and friend. I flew helicopters with him in Vietnam and in the N.C. Army National Guard. I also flew with him at Piedmont airlines. We spent time together with friends at his place in the mountains numerous times. He was a class act. Carolyn, you have my deepest sympathy at the passing of a true officer and gentleman!

I still remember Don making a bet with Bill Carrico about something on the 727 and Don lost the bet at a party and crawled down the hallway saying he couldn't believe he lost!! Always fun to be with.
