Dwight Howard Obituary
Dwight enjoyed watching television, especially cooking shows and CNN. He loved jazz and was an avid football fan. He was caring and had a wonderful personality. He will be remembered for his smile and great sense of humor. Dwight will be missed by everyone whose life he touched in some way.
Dwight was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Howard; brothers, Darryl Howard and Purvis Yates; and sister, Velvelette "Pencil" Howard. He leaves to treasure his memory, his daughter, Brooke Howard; former spouse, Patricia Howard; brothers, Alvin Cuffie, Glenn Howard, Keith and Travis Yates; sisters, Linda and Twaina Howard, Stacy and Katrina Yates; and countless other relatives and close friends.
Dwight will be laid to rest in the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, VA.

There's so much I can say, but I will say that I am so grateful that you were my big brother. You shared a lot with me about the short time I had with you all. You watched out for me when I went to my swimming lessons at Coker College and would stay with you until my mother picked me up. I have great memories of you and most of all is knowing that you loved me and I loved my big brother. This is hard but one day we will see each other again. Love you big brother

My thoughts and prayers are with you, Pat and Brooke. Although I only saw Dwight in person a few times, I felt like I knew him well after hearing you talk about him for so many years. He was a loving husband and father and I know you will miss him.

I met Dwight when I was a teenager and he eventually became apart of the family. Ever since that day he inspired me to become the best person I can be and to always enjoy life. A person like him doesn’t come around too often, and I feel extremely honored and blessed to have had him apart of my life.

Dwight entered my life as stranger, he leaves it as a loving brother. Thank you Big D for being a loving, kind, and generous friend. You where always there when I needed you. I could always depend on you. When I was down, you pick me up with your wit and pragmatic optimism. I will miss our stimulating conversations, whether we agreed or not. Thank you for loving me and my family and friends. You will be missed by us all. You touched so many lives and left a lasting mark on all you met. We learned so much from each other like, trust, generosity, and fellowship. When Cloey needs a babysitter, who will I call?
