Edward DIGMON Obituary

SURRY - Edward Merle Digmon, 60, of Surry, passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2010.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Lilas Digmon Miller.
Ed retired from VDOT in 1998 where he worked at the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry.
He is survived by his stepfather, Merlin "Jack" Miller and wife, Mary of Fairhope, Ala.; companion, Judith L. Taylor; children, Daniel Taylor, Douglas Taylor, Savannah Taylor and Kassidy Digmon; half-brother, Christopher Miller of Chicago, Ill.; uncle, Richard Hammock of California and numerous cousins.
The family will receive friends at the Purviance Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Wakefield on Thursday, April 1, 2010, from 1 to 2 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday following the visitation at Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk.
Flowers are welcome, or monetary donations can be made to the family for a trust set up for the children at P.O. Box 195, Wicomico, VA 23184. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com. View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.

I saw a quote the other day that really applies to Ed. "We all start out about the same; but after that some of us become much more interesting." Even when we disagreed with Ed, we had to admire his honesty.
If he said it, he believed it. The world is a lesser place now that Ed has departed.
