This is dedicated to my precious brother. You were a kind, generous and loving soul. You brought joy and laughter to everyone fortunate enough to know you. Now it is your time to have joy, laughter, peace and well-being in Heaven. I am sure by now that God has made you supervisor of angels in charge of mansion construction I am also sure that you have pointed out what was not done right on the existing ones and have rehabbed them (Smiling). When you look down on us know that we still feel the pain of missing you but that we also feel the joy of knowing you no longer suffer. I know that one day you will be there to take my hand and lead me to the perfect paradise God and all the angels like you have prepared for us. You are in my heart and thoughts every day.

It has been almost 3 years now little brother and it still feels like it was only yesterday that you were here. I love and miss you so very much and that will never diminish. I am only consoled by the fact that I know I will see you again one day. I know you're in a better place, happy and healthy.

Gary was a wonderful person. He was kind and generous and always willing to help someone in need. I could always count on him to correct a problem whether it was hvac, electrical, or plumbing related. He was truly a master craftsman.
I was privileged to know Gary for 9 short years and during that time, I witnessed the love and devotion that he showed to his family members and his friends. I was proud to call him my friend. He was a remarkable man and his memory will live on forever.

Gary was like a brother to me when I was a teenager in Newport News. He was always helpful, funny, and sweet, and I felt safe when he was around. If I needed anything, he never had to be asked. He made me feel special. He was genuinely kind. When I think about those days so very long ago, he still stands out as a mischievous angel and bright image who loved me because he loved his dear sister and he knew I loved her too. Rest in peace and merriment, laughing boy.
Im glad I had the chance to have him in my life for few years!! What a kind human been. Thank God for the privilege

Gary was the type of guy who never met a stranger. He would do anything for anybody at any time. CASE IN POINT: I had a plumber and two electricians look at my hot tub that would not come on and couldn't do anything. Gary went down, took a look, ten minutes later came up and said I know what is wrong. He ordered a very expensive part, took zero money mind you,
shipped it to his home....drive 3 hours there and back to install the part and 6 years later zero problems. I offered for he and bro' to spend the night take the boat and go fishing. He said that wasn't necessary he was glad to help AND would not take a dime for his labor. While there he also fixed my ice maker and ran a check on my A/C. That was Gary. BTW What a "snappy" dresser... Never saw him not put together perfectly

Unfortunately, I did not get to know Gary until he was already diagnosed with cancer. In the short time that I did know him, he was an amazing man, friend, husband, brother, etc., and he will always hold a special place in my heart! I am very grateful to be able to share his memories with his friends and family. And, hopefully, the friendships formed since and before his loss will continue to strengthen and help ease the pain. Gary, you are loved and continue to be missed by many. And you will NEVER be forgotten.

I remember as a young child, Gary, taking my brother and I to get us something to eat. He spent time with us and acted like he genuinely cared about us. I will never forget my cousin investing his time in us as a teenager. That meant a lot. I reflect on how much love he showed toward us in our early years of life and how gracious God was allowing me to show my love towards him towards the end of his life. God brought us back together full circle.

My Dearest Hunny Bunny, Its been one year since God sent for you to be an Angel in Heaven. A lot of tears have been rolling down my cheek, my heart is broken and scared. You were my best friend. You were the smartest Man I ever knew, there wasn't any thing you could not do. When I came to you with a problem, you would always say. I will take care of it. Although I never had the pleasure of spending alot of time with Gary, whenever I was around him he was very warm and freindly and I could tell he was a really great guy.I never heard anyone say anything but good things about him and his generosity and his considerable skills. I know he will be missed by the many family and friends whose lives he touched, but I also know he shared some wonderful times with them all which they will cherish in their memories.

I can honestly say I have never meet a nicer person than Gary. He always made me feel welcome when ever I was in his presence. The laid back nature the he approached life with even as the cancer was talking its toll is something to be envied by us all. He will truly be missed.
