Nell was a vivacious, generous, loving, and caring friend---the dearest of friends! She remembered minute details about people, situations, and history she lived through up until the last few days of her life. She talked about life on this Peninsula during WW II like it was yesterday, making it sound alive, especially when she talked about dancing with soldiers before they shipped out to Europe. She danced at the USO with many soldiers who became famous in later years, emphasizing what it was like to dance with Ronald Reagan and Clark Gable ("Gone With the Wind"). Nell was devoted to her Lord and gave praise to Him by singing in the choir of First United Methodist Church, Hampton, for many years and shared her love of the Lord in her family. She cherished the dogs she had for pets and talked about them often. Nell especially loved her dark chocolate and other treats, which she graciously shared with visitors. A visit with Nell was an afternoon spent going back through the history she lived, modern day events, family activities, eating chocolate, talking, and eating more chocolate!
Thank you, dear Lord, for the blessing of knowing Nell. Heaven has a beautiful new star and more glorious music! Jane Miller

Ruthie and girls, I will truly miss my friend Nell. We talked often on the phone until about a couple of months ago. She was very resourceful and helpful to many. We worked together at Hampton Social Services for many years and kept in touch after retirement. She loved her family and her church. May she rest in peace. Love, her "Annie Boo" Price. Call me if you need me.

It was always a distinct pleasure to be in the company of Nell. She will remain in our hearts, and in our memories for her pleasant personalty, and for her delicious cakes enjoyed at church covered dish dinners.

Ms. Nell will be dearly missed. I pray that I’m half as sharp as she was when I get to be her age. She was the walking and talking encyclopedia for the City of Hampton and she remembered everything! I loved my visits with her because I always walked away with little gems of knowledge ❤ May everyone who loved her find peace in knowing that she is most definitely rejoicing with the Lord!
