George Brown Obituary

WINDSOR - George Hayden Brown Sr., 87, widower of Julia B. Brown, died June 25, 2004 in Obici Hospital, Suffolk. A native of Surry County he was a member of Christian Home Baptist Church and retired from the Newport News Shipyard. Mr. Brown loved the sport of baseball. Survivors are four daughters, Lorraine B. Graves, Cassandra B. Avant, Cathryn L. Brown, Cathy B. Lee; two sons, Bernard Brown Sr., James W. Brown; 21 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held noon Wednesday at Christian Home Baptist Church by Rev. Wendell Waller with interment in the church cemetery. Viewing at the funeral home from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, and at thre church one hour before funeral time. The family will assemble at 805 Moore farm lane, (Chuckatuck) Suffolk. Mr. Brown's services are entrusted to Pretlow and Chapman Funeral Home, Smithfield.
