Geraldine D. Wallace

1928 - 2017

ALVATON, KENTUCKY - Geraldine D. Wallace, a longtime resident of Williamsburg, answered the Master's call on Monday, August 14, 2017. Her life's journey began on September 28, 1921, the daughter of the late Sidney Cooke and Florence Cooper-Cooke. She was a faithful member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. She served her church as a Deaconess Emeritus and a member of the House Hold of Ruth. She retired as an Interpreter from the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alpheus Wallace, her son, Alpheus D. Wallace; her sisters, Estelle Wallace, Alice Randall, Sadie Bobbitt and her brother, Charlie Cooke. She leaves to cherish her blessed memories, her children, Gayle DeHart (James), of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Wayne "Kirk" Wallace (Andrea), of Newport News and Dr. Sharon Whitlock ( Rev. Ron E.), of Alvaton, Kentucky; her grandchildren, Ranada, Wayne, Jamal, Mensah, Pili, Tanya, Tammy, Teresa, Ronnie, Ryan and Robert; her thirteen great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, many other loving relatives and an abundance of caring friends. A celebration of her life will be held 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2017, in Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron E. Whitlock officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
