I met Gerda in South Florida in 1986. She was my co-worker and took this "little young girl" who had just arrived from Germany under her wings. I had the pleasure of not only working with her, but also getting to know her on a personal level. She truly was a person who loved life and it showed. Though we lost contact over the last 30+ years, I never forgot her and was extremely sad hearing about her passing. Thank you, Gerda, for making my humble beginnings in America a pleasant experience.

She was a regular participant at the Y in Williamsburg. Her many friends miss that smile. We exercised in the pool together. Lucy P

Gerda is one of a kind. Her humor, attitude -dearly missed! So fortunate to have shared some good memories with her. She had the `can-do´ attitude in life. Open to whatever came her way.
Photo from few years back-she did the chicken dance at the Octoberfest. Still cracks me up.

Greta was a very special person. I was blessed to receive several of her knitted items for myself and my handicapped daughter. She entertained my husband and me with her emails of jokes and funny stories. Really appreciated during Covid. She was in my water aerobics class at the Y. Loved our chats and hugs. Loved hearing about her travels. Rest in peace dear friend. You will be missed. My life has been blessed for having known you. Shelby
