Gilbert Jahn Obituary
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, she instilled the love for family and Jesus in our lives. She loved to cook and knew no strangers.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gilbert E. Hinton; mother Virgie Hinton Abbott; husbands Horst Jahn and Ralph B. Newman; brother Michael D. Abbott; son Ralph "Benny" Newman; and daughter Kathryn Rainey Vick. Survivors include her children, Larry Newman, Vicki Burton (Steve), Sherry Winn (Randy), Steven Jahn (Tari), Jonathan "Scotty" Jahn; daughter-in-law Michelle Newman; son-in-law Steve Vick; brother-in-law John Joseph; grandchildren, Lindsey, Justin, Jennifer, Laura, Joshua, Jessica, Austen, Tyler, Wyatt, Skylar, Oliver, Stephanie, Alayna, Lucas, Zachery; and great-grandchildren, Landon, Gresham, Liam.
Burial was private. A memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements by W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home.

Hard to believe it's been 4.
Years since we lost our precious mother during such A sad and tragic time. It still hurts that we were not able to honor her memory in a way that she's so deserved. Hesora I feel has not wavered. Nor has my love for her. Miss her now and forever

Vicki and family, Jerry & I are deeply saddened to hear of the loss of your dear mother. I have know your mom a long time. She was an amazing woman raising seven kids that were her life. She was a hard worker, never met a stranger, loved to talk and always had a story to tell about her kids and grandkids who she adored. We could talk for hours. We miss and love her and pray the family have only cherished memories. Prayers for healing and comfort from the anguish. Please know we are here if you need us.
