Our family is truly blessed to have had our beloved family member for seven decades and eight years. She lived past three score and ten. It is to short a span but we submit ourselves to the one that created her.
We had a memorable time of visitation, music reflections, celebration of her life and the interment.
All this and knowing she is resting waiting for that day when she will get up help us to dry our tears at the great loss we feel.

TO the Shivers Family
Grace and peace to you in the name of our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.
It is with heartfelt sympathy that the members of God's Word Will and Ministries of Baltimore, Maryland we wish to extend our condolences to The Shivers family on the passing of your beloved Ida Ford Shivers. We realize that words may seem empty as you are grieving your loss. However, it is important that you know we are praying that God will surround you in His loving arms and that His peace will be your strength. In our times of loss, we often find ourselves overwhelmed with sorrow. It may seem as though comfort is beyond our reach, but Jesus Christ tells us, “Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted” (Matthew 5:4). Christ conquered death for us over 2000 years ago. Allow His love to heal your grief. Allow the peace of God to give you the strength that you need to get you through this difficult time. As a companion, Jesus Christ will comfort and sustain you in your time of bereavement. As your healer, He will give you hope and restore your joy.
May the grace of God be with you during this time and allways..

As children growing up in Smithfield during the 60's and 70's, there was so much joy and happiness because of the powerful sacrifices that mothers like Mrs. Shivers made.
