James Anderson Obituary
He was a native of Ames, Iowa, and had been a resident of Hayes for the last 15 years.
Andy retired from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer after 22 years of service. He was an instructor at Fort Eustis Engineering Department/Civil Service for 17 years. Mr. Anderson was of the Lutheran faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gail Anderson.
Mr. Anderson leaves behind to cherish his memories his daughter, Nicole Blum of Norfolk; son, Carl James Anderson of Florida; two sisters, Jo Simmerman and Kris Catania; brother, Dave Anderson; and two grandchildren, Penelope and Wilhemina Anderson.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2009, at Peninsula Funeral Home and funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. in the Chapel, with Pastor Stan Putney officiating. Burial will be private.
