To The Dixon Family, please know that each of you are in my thoughts and prayers. I am so sorry for your loss. I have some wonderful memories of time spent with the family. Your Father was a phenomenal man and a great teacher of life. I remember the talks in the front yard on Beech Dr. and at the house in Matthews County. Great, great memories that I have taken with me for a lifetime.......... Blessings to the family.......

I met John and his wife Anita about 20 years ago. They were very nice people. I remember Anita asking me if I was a "come here" or a "from here".
I replied that I was a "from here". I gave provided them with several of my relatives' names. John replied, he is definitely a "from here". They invited me, a stranger, to their home and shared with me and provided me with a printed copy of his research on my family from Gwynn's Island. They also attended several of family members' funerals or visitations. They were very generous people and I am saddened to hear of John's passing.

Having been raised across the street from the Dixon´s was one of my best childhood memories! Waffles and ice cream was what Mr Dixon would make Susan and I for breakfast! The summers I spent on GI were the best! I learned so much staying weeks on end at the cottage- Mr Dixon was a true gem of a man, dad, Bubba and friend to my parents! He will be greatly missed!!!!!
