Josephine E. Chisman

NORFOLK - Josephine E. Chisman of the 4900 block of Bruce Street was called home to glory on March 28, 2005, at the age of 61. She was born in York County, Va., and she attended York County Public Schools. Mrs. Chisman was a self-employed companion aide. She also worked for 10 years at the Dutch Maid Donuts Shop. She was the First Lady of New Hope Church of Deliverance, Hampton, and a former long time member of Holy Light Church of Deliverance, Portsmouth. Mrs. Chisman leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Pastor Stafford C. Chisman; two daughters, Tina Elliott-Blount (Max) and Paula Thompson (Asalameda); three sons, Stafford S. Chisman (Evonne), Donald L. Chisman and Richard C. Chisman (Loretta); nine grandchildren, Max II, Tiffany, Shaquita, Jermaine, Shanika, Richard Jr., Asalameda, Paul and Joy; and a host of other relatives and friends. A life celebration service will be held at noon on Saturday, April 2, at Holy Light Church of Deliverance. Bishop Samuel L. Carruth will officiate. Entombment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. J. T. Fisher Funeral Services, 1080 N. George Washington Hwy., Chesapeake, is handling the arrangements. Viewing will begin on Friday, April 1, 2005. The family will assemble at J. T. Fisher Funeral Services at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
