Kenneth HOLMES Obituary

POQUOSON - Kenneth Richard Holmes, 63, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012.
A native of Waterville, Maine, he was enlisted in the U.S. Army from 1967-1969, where he trained with the 82nd ABN. He was an Army Ranger and served in Vietnam during which he received the Purple Heart. He was a senior vice-president with Chesapeake Homes and loved the building trade. He also enjoyed fishing, boating and anything involving the water.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Rose Marie Holmes; and his brother, Michael Holmes.
Survivors include his wife, Gricelda Patricia Holmes; two daughters, Jennifer Holmes Miller and Ashley Holmes Wagoner (Arthur); three sons, Scott, Nicholas and Patrick Holmes; stepson, Juan Gallardo; stepdaughter, Linda Gallardo; two grandsons, Harrison and Christopher Wistock; granddaughter, Olivia Wehrli; his brother, John Holmes (Deborah); and sister, Linda Marie Holmes Hannon (Bill).
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel. A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Inurnment in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veteran Cemetery will be held at a later day.

We are very sorry to have to say goodbye to a wonderful neighbor and friend. We really enjoyed our times together out on the bay or in our backyards.
