Kevin BROCK Obituary
He was a lifelong resident of Newport News. His love of the water grew into a career as a scallop boat captain for more than 20 years. He was blessed with artistic abilities as an artist, especially drawings and photography. He also spent many hours working on cars as a mechanic. He lived life to fullest and was well known as the family prankster and was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church.
Kevin was preceded in death by his brother, Danny Brock.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia Riffel; his father, Clarence Brock and his companion, Charlotte Rose; the love of his life, his children, Lyndzee Nychole Brock and Tyler Matthew Brock and their mother, Linda Hyatt; his brothers, Jody, Steve, Timmy Patrick, and Darryl Brock and adopted brother, Robert "MooMoo" Williams; his sisters, Lisa Wilcox and Cheryl Goudy; and 13 nieces and nephews and nine great-nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, at Weymouth Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Jerome Catholic Church by the Rev. Henry M. Diesta with interment to follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.

Dave and I are just hearing of Kevins passing. Our hearts are breaking more because we never got to say our goodbyes. What great memories we are left with. There was never a time when you were around Kevin that he did not make you laugh. Danny is not alone anymore. I am so sorry Tim, Steve, Lisa, Patrick, "Mr Pete" and Kevins mom, Moo-Moo, Linda. Kevin was a great light in our lives. Although we hadn't known him very long, it felt like we had known him forever. He was a good man, a very caring man. He was a great influence for my son. He was at our house almost every day since August working on my son, Vinny's car. He stayed at our house and worked on my son's car with my son one day from 1pm to 1am until he got it running. He was not finished working on the car, and was due to come back to do more work on it. How very shocked we all were to hear about his accident! We are very sorry for your loss. I grew up with Kevin back in the 60's on Cascade Drive and last saw him a couple of years ago. We had some good times back in those days. My sympathies go out to the entire Brock family as they mourn the loss of Kevin.

Dear Brock family
I'm truly saddend to have to write this in your time of sarrow. Kevin was a life long friend. Kevin was the type of friend that would watch your back through thick and thin which we did for each other on several occasions. Kevin was a very generous person. he invited me into his home and fixed my tractor trailer working all night to make sure I got on the road the next morning. I have been looking for him since he left his house and was very sad to see this in the paper cause I had lost touch and couldn't find him. was told he moved to a brothers house or something. It was just two weeks ago I was told he was working in a auto place in NN somewhere. I'm sorry I didn't get to see him again. I hope he is in a better place with G-d now

To all the Brock family, I'm truly and sincerely sorry for your loss. The thing I remember most about Kevin was his smile and I hope you know how rare that is. I lost my brother Steve less than a year ago and he and Kevin were good friends too. I'm sure Steve was waiting for him and they are both smiling in paradise, having a good time over the latest Chase. We'll see them again, just not here.

Kevin will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. His love of life and spirit will be with us all. Growing up, Kevin was just one more “brother” hanging at the Joyner home and I can remember so many fun times.
The entire Brock family is in my thoughts and prayers. Hope you find some comfort in know that there are many who care. Knowing all too well that the good die young and are taken from us without warning is a difficult experience to endure. May God bless you all and keep you in his care.

My Dearest Brother #6,
It has taken me some time to come here to write a note to you. I know you are watching me sit here and cry and watch me seek the appropriate words that are not coming to me.
With that said, I can only say "I love you with all of my heart", but you know that as I never recall ever seeing you in my adult years and NOT telling you that.
I hope you rest as peacefully as you can and sing your heart out. I know you and Danny are together again and that is helping me cope today.

You meant so much to so many people you are going to be missed by many I will never forget the time we spent....you were a great person and also a caring friend...no matter what i was going through in my personal life, when i hung out with u and we worked on my car for hours on in i knew i would always be in a good mood and be able to joke, laugh, and enjoy it....you brought joy to my heart and you took the extra time to try to teach me what you know.
