Kevin Smith Obituary

HAYES - Kevin Grant Smith, 53, died suddenly April 10, 2017, leaving us much too soon. Kevin a native of Gloucester County, was a waterman who enjoyed every day being on the water. He was an avid Kyle Busch NASCAR driver fan. He had a broad grin, fantastic wit, and the ability to engage into conversation with anyone, never meeting a stranger. We will miss our beloved Kevin, who now has been reunited with loved ones in heaven. Our hearts are sad, but we have many happy memories to be with us until we all meet again. Kevin, we love you and miss you dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Herman L. Smith, Jr.; brother, Kelly Smith; and step-father, Thomas Hall. Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Melinda Smith; devoted mother, Charlotte Hall; children, Joey, Daniel (Sharon), Adrienne and Kellie; brother, Craig Hall (Beth); four grandchildren; best friend, Johnnie Haywood; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service officiated by Reverend Bill West will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment will follow in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Please visit www.hoggfh.com to share condolences and memories with the family.

You will be missed by many. I knew Kevin since he was a small boy living across the street from my grandparents cottage in Guinea. He was always happy with a smile on his face and he always made me laugh. We will miss your "only in Guinea" stories. RIP. Praying for comfort for your family; Melinda, Adrienne & Charlotte.
