Khadijah McKINNON Obituary
Her life's journey began on May 7, 1972, the daughter of Linda Lee White and Roy Melvin Jones Sr.
She was a beautiful person who loved life and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother Roy Melvin Jones Jr.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her husband, Rudolph McKinnon; her daughter, Keisha Joidae Figueroa; her son, Shawn Terrell Benjamin Jr.; her stepdaughter, Tiffany R. McKinnon; her stepsons, Juan Thompson and Jonathan McKinnon; her sister, Medina Jamillah McCrae; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and many caring friends.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2011, in St. John Baptist Church, 1397 Penniman Road, Williamsburg with the Rev. Morris A. Randall officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the church by 12:30 p.m. on Monday.

wow, i am very sad to know that khadijah has passed. i am a long time friend of the jones family and i am actually beside myself at the moment. she was a happy and a fun-loving person. she will be missed. my condolences goes out to the mckinnon and the jones family.

My prayers go out to the the McKinnon/Jones families. Khadijah and were real close in high school. I was fortunate enough to see her when I relocated back to the area in 2004. I was quite taken aback when I heard the news. May she rest in peace as her life on earth was done-Della

Khadijah and i were friends at bruton. We had some fun times. I have alot of great memories. Family hold 2 gods unchanging hands. Gone but never 4gotten. Take care of each other. Be blessed. I love u!

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,

Kay i met you many years ago, and always felt like you were a free spirit, you did exactly what you wanted, i really loved the way you cared for everyone, very kind hearted, i remember when we were at a pool party you swam like a fish and had fun doing it, i drove you home and mack carried you in the house, that was all love, you were always his shining star, you were protected by your husband and now by your father, you will be so missed with that awesome smile, i saw you a few weeks ago and you were still fighting, up and walking around, it has really been a treasure knowing you, i will see you again and save my wings for me, i won't say goodbye but i will see you later, love ya you will always remain in my heart with all the memories.
