WILLIAMSBURG - Michael Martin "Mike" Boley, 60, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017. Mike was an Assistant Store Manager at Dicks Sporting Goods and previously worked for many years in the hotel, restaurant and food service industries. Mike was born in Lexington, VA to Charles Chrysostom Boley, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth "Lisa" Kiefer Boley. He graduated from Lexington High School in 1974 and from Washington and Lee University in 1978 with a B.S. in Chemistry. Mike was hard working and kind hearted. He was devoted to his family and had a great sense of humor. Mike was a long-time member of St. Olaf Catholic Church. For relaxation, he enjoyed reading and working in his garden. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, and father-in-law, Robert P. "Bob" Wright. Mike is survived by his spouse, Elizabeth "Betty" Wright Boley; sons, James Michael (Anna) Boley, of Harrisonburg, VA, Charles Robert "Chase" Boley of Williamsburg, VA and step-daughter Bobbie Jo Ann (Wes) Saulman of West Point, VA; three siblings, Charles Chrysostom (Donna) Boley, Jr. of Avondale, PA, Lisa Boley (Matt) Heuser of Lexington, KY, and Kathleen Ann "Kathy" Boley of Henrico, VA; and one step-granddaughter, Brittany Saulman. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, at St. Olaf Catholic Church, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow at Olive Branch Christian Church Cemetery. Mike and I had some adventures together that I will never forget. In all instances, he was a caring and loving person who looked out for and was always there to help others. I think that was his true calling in life, looking out for other people. The years we lived together in various houses in college were epic times. Mike convinced me that it would be a good idea to get a puppy while I was a sophomore in college. He got one, why shouldn't I? That was just one hilarious disaster. Not to mention road trips, getting to school in the snow, oversleeping class, working part time jobs in the same restaurant, and on and on. The memories just keep coming.

No doubt Mike shared his love of life, deep intelligence, kindness and wit with his family and those traits will live on his his boys.

I will treasure Michael's memory and the light he brought to my own life experience. He was an important part of my growing up and I'm sad to know that he has gone on ahead of us.

Betty, So sad to hear about the passing of Mike. In 2 Timothy 7 it reads, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith". Mike is now in his heavenly home resting in the arms of Jesus. No more worries or cares. He is now at peace. May God continue to give you the strength you and your family need to get through this.
