Michael Iannetta Obituary

VIRGINIA BEACH - With heavy hearts, we announce the loss of our beautiful son, brother, uncle, and husband, Michael Patrick Iannetta. On July 07, 2017 God welcomed Michael into heaven to join his family before him. Michael was born April 25, 1978, in Newport News, Virginia, the youngest child of CDR. John and Patricia Iannetta. Michael was active in scouting and proudly attained the Order of the Arrow and Eagle Scout. At an early age, Michael was introduced to the importance and rewards of caring for and about the elderly and disabled and spent many hours volunteering at a long term care facility. Michael graduated from Denbigh High School. After graduation, Michael attended Arizona State University and Virginia Tech. Michael worked in the field of securities and investments as a Financial Analyst and a Mortgage Loan Consultant licensed in twelve states. Michael married Genie on September 10, 2005. From the very beginning, they shared a very special love and connection for one another. They also shared a love of their four legged furry "babies." One of his God given gifts was his ability for making you feel like you knew each other for years. He never knew a stranger. Michael is survived by his wife Genia Raynor Iannetta, of Virginia Beach, his parents John and Patricia Iannetta of Suffolk, his sister Genine Pettitt of Yorktown, and his brother John Iannetta, Jr. of Scottsdale, AZ. "Uncle Boogie's" nephews and nieces Gavin Wallace, Jackson and Hudson Pettitt of Yorktown, Isabella and John Iannetta III of Scottsdale, AZ. Madison Raynor and James Raynor IV of Virginia Beach. His very special Aunt Barbara and Uncle Charles of NJ, as well as a host of loving cousins. Though it is with profound grief we mourn his sudden tragic passing, we who loved him best, will never lose sight of his engaging smile, his silly happy sense of humor, and his true affection for those most important to him, his family. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Michael on Sunday, August 6th from 4-7pm at the Wyndham Virginia Beach Ocean Front Hotel, Beach Club Room. In lieu of flowers, the family requests the following organizations for memorial contributions. www.gorescuedogs.com, www.salvationarmyusa.com, www.bootcampaign.com

Not sure what to say?

Brief Memory: The company I worked for HCCS was one of Mr. Iannetta's many clients. It must have been renewal time. As the HR Manager, I assisted with employee renewals. He looked at me very seriously and stated I'm glad this company is an equal opportunity employer. HCCS did have very multi-cultural environment but of course that's not what he meant. He mentioned seeing a co-worker wearing red patent leather knee boots. He stated he didn't know HCCS hires superheros. I laughed so hard I almost cried; Mike just grinned. Needless to say, my co-worker gained an a.k.a. Wonder Woman. Thinking back we should have called her Nubia, the sister of Wonder Woman. Mr. Michael Iannetta shall always be remembered.

My prayers are combined with those who have been praying for family and friends of Mr. Michael Iannetta. I had no idea he transitioned last year.

Earlier this year I actually gave a relative his name as a referral. We meet 12+ years ago when I was the HR Manager for HCCS. He was nice enough to conduct a group meeting and later he speak to each employee individually. After I left HCCS, I contacted him and he helped me obtain an interview with the company he worked for. I was even offered a position but I didn't accept.

Mr. Iannetta was able to make your slight smile turn into a belly aching, toe tapping, outburst of full throttle laughter. He was truly an all around nice guy who really loved and valued his family.

I join everyone in saying he will be missed and never forgotten.

I am so sorry we missed Mike's memorial. I just heard of his passing tonight.
He was a great friend to my wife and I. The thing that I most appreciated about Mike was that he always tried to do the right thing for people, even when it wasn't the best thing for him personally.
We will miss him dearly.

Please contact me if there is anything I can do even if it's just to share some stories.

I had the honor of working with Mike. The greatest part about spending time with him, was the fact he made you feel included in whatever was going on. He was a smart, genuine guy.

I consider myself lucky to have gotten to know Mike.

Mike was one of the kindest and most amazing people i ever meet. He was one of my closest friends and consider him a brother. I've never meet a smarter man or one that enjoyed living his life more. He was someone i could always count on. He loved his wife dearly, his friends without reservation and his family wholeheartedly... and definitely his dogs as well. I am honored to have him call me a friend. Not a day goes by he doesn't come to my mind. I feel his presence constantly and will never forget his kindness and love.

My Beloved Mikey...it's nearly a month since your passing. I've been thinking of the many ways I'll miss you. Wishing some words of comfort will come from others or my own thoughts; it finally came in song..."It well may be
That we will never meet again
In this lifetime
So let me say before we part
So much of me
Is made of what I learned from you
You'll be with me
Like a handprint on my heart
And now whatever way our stories end
I know you have re-written mine
By being my friend..."
Your impact on me is life changin. You taught me more than you even knew. There will not be a day when you're not thought of. I will never stop loving you or missing you.
Love always...

I am so very sorry for your loss. I knew Mike when both of us were in Ms. Miller's and Ms. Hughes' classes in sixth grade...I will never forget him. I was new to the group of kids at that school, and he won me over with his smile and big heart. He is one of the brightest, sweetest, most charismatic persons I have ever met. Although I have not seen him in years, it makes me so very sad to know that he is no longer with us. The world is just a little less bright without him in it. Prayers and love to Mike's family.

We are so very sorry for this great loss. Mike always greeted others with "that" smile that let all of us in right away. I thank Pat and Jack Iannetta for sharing him with us in Denbigh during his high school years.

Mr. And Mrs. Iannetta, Genine and John, we are so saddened to hear about Michael's passing. It has been a long time since we have seen any of you but we have fond memories from when Mom and Dad lived next to you on Lacon. Michael and Josh were friends back then, riding bikes and getting into mischief that boys get into. It seems like such a long time ago. From what was written about Michael, he certainly became a wonderful young man. We will keep your family in our prayers, Heide, Josh, Amanda and Marga

I will never forget the first time I met Michael. I had come in late to a meeting and all the seats were filled, Michael stood up from the other side of the room and said "please, take this chair" and he stood for the rest of the meeting. I set through the whole meeting thinking what a gentleman he was and I have never forgotten what he did. The earthly world has lost a wonderful person & I am so sorry for your loss.
My prayers are with his family,

Pat and Jack, I am so saddened to hear of Michael's passing. My heart goes out to you. There are no words I can say that will ease your grief or really comfort you. I don't think there really are words that comfort during the loss of a child. However, God can, and will, provide that comfort. So trust Him and lean on Him. Hold on to Him and to each other. Just know that I love you dearly and will be keeping you, and the whole family, in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm stunned and saddened to hear of Mike's passing. He joined my class in the 4th grade and we were friends since. While I lost track of him after high school, I spoke with him in probably '07 or '08 and he was still the same gregarious guy. We don't live in the same area and unfortunately I have a commitment during his memorial. I wanted to send my condolences to his family. He once said something to me that, while I would rather not share it, has always meant the world to me. He was a great friend and I loved him. -Matt Cox please contact me if there is anything I can do. 804.357.2827
