Norma HARE Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Norma "Jean" Hare, 83, a native of Jackson, Ohio, and currently a resident of Newport News, passed away Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, at Riverside Regional Medical Center.
She retired after 11 years of service as an assembler for Siemens Automotive. Jean had several loves in her life: bowling as a young girl and shopping as she got older, time with her family, and her three faithful companions, Sammy Joe, MollyAnn, and Megan Star.
Jean was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Pearl and Viola Alice Steinhour; a brother, Purley Steinhour; and a sister, Anna May Campbell.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Bernard R. Hare; two sons, Raymond Hare and wife, Ginger and Ronald Hare and wife, Teresa; a daughter, Ellen Hare; six grandchildren, Raymond Hare Jr., Curtis Hare and wife, Dorie, Kristopher Hare, Stacey Sawicki, Carrie Withrow and husband, Brian, and William Sawicki; seven great-grandchildren, Forrest, Quintin, Douglas, Caden, Evin, Leland, and AnnaMarie; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, 836 Poquoson Avenue, Poquoson, and other times at 86 Messick Road. A Memorial Service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel by the Rev. Milford C. Rollins. Jean has expressed that she would like for everyone to "dress casual" for her services. Inurnment will be in Memorial Gardens, Newark, Ohio at a later date.

Uncle Bernard, Ellie, Raymond and Ronnie...I am so sorry to hear of Aunt Jean's passing. I know your hearts are hurting right now but please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. I hope to see you all when you bring Aunt Jean's ashes to Newark.
