Time or distance could never lessen the wonderful impact that Coach Thacker, Dee, and all the family had on our lives. Being a Hampton Jaguar was such a large part of our youth. Being Jaguars at such an early age taught us the spirit of competition, the respect for our competitors, the honor and responsibility of being a part of a team, and true wrestling skills that we took through our high school wrestling careers. It was an honor to learn these things from Coach Thacker who loved and respected everyone on the team. Our deepest sympathy to Dee and all of the family. We will never forget you.

As a child I wrestled for the Jaguars for only a short time but Coach Thacker's influence found me once more when I was approached by Mike Reid and Mike Rutkowski my freshman year of high school. Former Jaguars themselves convinced me to return to the mat and I became reacquainted with sport and the Thacker family. I was definately not the best out there but the support from the Thacker family and my Crabber teammates(many of which had wrestled under Coach as a Jaguar) kept me coming out year after year. If it weren't for Coach and Dee I wouldn't have met some of the best friends I have today and I wouldn't have had some of the best times of my life. Just want to share my condolances to the Thacker family as well as everyone affected by this great loss. I also want to thank Coach and Dee for letting so many of us into your family and home.

To the Thacker family, I want to express my condolences for your loss. Mr. Thaker was a Father to figure to many, including myself, back when I grew up in the ole neighborhood, Hampton Terrace. I can remember him almost putting every kid in the back of the Station Wagon and hauling us off to either Football practices and or games, and of course, the same with Wrestling. Thanks Mr. Thacker for watching after all of us kids way back when.

The Thackers took us in as part of their family almost 20 years ago. Distance has separated us for many years now, but the memories of family holidays, camping and Thacker get togethers will forever be fond ones. I'm so sorry for your loss. Norman was an asset to both his family and the community, he will truly be missed. Love you all.
