Ramon Loper Obituary

NEW YORK CITY - Mr. Ramon Navarro Loper, 66, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2002, at St. Luke's Hospital in New York City after a brief illness. He was born November 25, 1935, in Pennsylvania. His family relocated to Newport News where he graduated from Huntington High School with the class of 1953. Shortly thereafter, he became a member of the renowned "Five Keys" vocal group. Ramon was completing a college degree at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his mother, Isabell Jefferson and leaves to mourn his passing, two daughters, Serena Reese (Sean) of Hampton, Rhonda Loper of Los Angeles, Calif.; one granddaughter, Chanelle Mouton of Hampton; one brother, Rudolph Jefferson (Ruth) of Newark, N.J.; two nieces, two nephews, several great nieces and nephews and a special friend, Emma Bratton. A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, October 24, at Nicholson.
