Robert Holloway Davis

POQUOSON - Robert Holloway 'Bob' Davis, 81, died Wednesday, August 28, 2013. Bob was born in Charlottesville Va. and was a longtime resident of Hampton Roads. He proudly served in the 11th Airborne Division and Army Reserve. Bob retired from Newport News Shipbuilding with 41 years of service, starting as a Mold Loftsman and ending his career as a General Foreman in the Steel Fabrication Division. Bob was an accomplished carpenter and a draftsman of custom home plans. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, listening to music and rooting for the Redskins. Survivors include his wife, Doris S. Davis; a daughter, Pam Roth and husband Bill of Bedford, VA; two sons, R. Wayne Davis and wife Cathy, and Mark C. Davis and wife Mary, both of Poquoson; a step-son, Arthur Smith of Poquoson; six grandchildren, Chris Davis and wife Lisa, Hunter Davis, Cameron Roth, Catherine Roth, Austin Davis, and Jared Davis; a step-grandchild, Shawn Duckwall and husband Mike; three great-grandchildren, Trevor, Mason and Landon Davis; and four step-great-grandchildren, Michelle, Dakota, Dylan and Cassie. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 31, in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family extends its sincere gratitude for the care and support Bob received from the staff at Golden Living Center - Bayside of Poquoson.
