Robert Edwards Obituary
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Suzanne Kates Edwards, parents Horace Deshazo Edwards and Emma Lee Hall Edwards, brother Horace Lee Edwards, and sister Shirley Edwards Trant. He is survived by his daughters Cary Edwards Moore (Brett), and Christine Edwards Dittrich (Darren), and his five grandchildren, Allison Mathena (Kyle), Natalie Moore, Sophie Moore, Rylie Dittrich, Spencer Dittrich, his great-grandson Alton Edwards Mathena, and his dog Herman.
The family would like to sincerely thank the caring doctors and nurses at Riverside Hospital for the excellent care he received.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Chestnut Memorial United Methodist Church Food Pantry in Newport News.
Friends and family are welcome to the graveside service to be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Peninsula Memorial Park, officiated by Robert Chapman of Chestnut Memorial United Methodist Church.

I knew Bob from the Peninsula Community Theater and just got the word of his passing. My heart goes out to his family and friends for the loss of such a kind and generous man.

Bob was such a nice man and a great co-worker as a fellow engineer at Busch Gardens. I had the pleasure of working with him for 10 great seasons. He will be missed!
