Robert was a long time friend of mine. When I was first assigned to Denbigh Station, where he worked, he was already a long-time veteran of the Postal Service, and he never hesitated to help new people like myself whenever he could. I found out later that at one time, Robert had played semi-pro baseball locally, I think they played in York County. As big and strong as Robert was, I would guess he could hit a baseball a long way. I worked with him in the Postal Service, and later in our union local. Robert also sang and played bass in a gospel singing group with his brothers and his mother. Robert Gresham was a great man.

He was a very good friend and mentor to me during my years working at the USPS in Newport News...one of the kindest people I have ever known. Soar with the eagles on angel wings...you will be missed terribly.

To Mrs. Cynthia and the Gresham family. So sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Gresham. He was a quiet and soft spoken man and always nice. Always had a smile to share when I saw him and NBG or anywhere else. May he rest in heaven.
