Robert Hudgins Obituary

MATHEWS - Capt. Robert Benjamin Franklin Hudgins Jr., age 82, of Gwynn's Island, died Monday, Aug. 9, 2004. He was affiliated with Tides Inn for 35 years as a Captain and Dock Master for the Miss Ann. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church of Mathews, Oriental Lodge # 20 A. F. & A. M., Urbanna Royal Arch Chapter # 59, Knights Templar Commandery # 17 of Newport News, Khedive Temple Shrine, and Scottish Rite of Richmond. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean S. Hudgins. He is survived by his two daughters, Shirley H. Hudgins and husband, William S. Hudgins Jr., of Roanoke and Sylvia H. Tullos and husband, Michael V. Tullos, of Grimstead; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 11, at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home Chapel, Mathews. Burial will follow at Gwynn's Island Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, Aug. 10, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. with a Masonic Service at 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to: American Cancer Society, c/o Jeannie Callis, Bank of America, P.O. Box 129, Mathews, VA 23109, or Riverside Walter Reed Hospice, P.O. Box 1130, Gloucester, VA 23061. Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, is in charge of the arrangements.
