Robert LaTorre Obituary

YORKTOWN - Robert Joseph LaTorre, 44, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2004. Robert was a native of Union City, N.J., and a Yorktown resident since 2000. He retired from the U.S. Marine Corps in December 2003 after 27 years of service. He worked at Roses Department Store in Yorktown, was active with Operation Smile, and was currently employed at AMC Terminal at Naval Station Norfolk. He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Mary Brooke LaTorre; and his children, Adriana, Ainsley, Erinn, Christian, William, Christopher, Ryan and Nina; his mother, Estelle Burdick of Norwich, Conn.; a sister, Susan Troupin of Washington State; three brothers, Jesse LaTorre, Vernon and Mark Burdick, all of Connecticut. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 4, in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church by the Rev. James Curran. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, May 3, in Amory Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the LaTorre Children's Scholarship Fund, 101 Cavalier Drive, Yorktown, VA 23692. Amory Funeral Home, Grafton, is handling the arrangements.

To my sister Brooke and my nieces and nephews...I know you are in pain but also that your love for each other will see you through this. Bob is always with you, in your hearts.



Bob, You were taken from them too soon. I know they will always miss you, but one day (I hope) they will be able to smile through the tears at the happy memories you.
