Robert Morgan Obituary

HAMPTON - Robert (Bob) Morgan was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Andrew Morgan and Hilda Grandison on September 28, 1921. On Thursday, January 3, 2013, he left this life. He was a devoted husband to Jessie Mae Morgan. He was a faithful and diligent worker for the Lord at Mercy Seat Baptist Church. Preceded in death is his devoted wife, Jessie; two sons, Sherman and Pernell Roberts; brother, Ulysses Morgan, and sister, Audrey Henderson. He leave to cherish his memory three sons, Aubrey, Donald, and Robert U., three daughters, Teresa, Hilda, and Jessica; five sisters, Millie, Eula Mae, Leola, Leotha and Erline; 22 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Service will be on Saturday, January 12, at 11 a.m. at Mercy Seat Baptist Church, 1013 Todds Lane, Hampton, Rev. I. Charles Williams, officiating. Interment will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens. Mr. Morgan will lie in state at the church by 9 a.m. Family only is asked to assemble at the home by 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mercy Seat Baptist Church, Hampton. Viewing will be at the funeral home Friday, January 11, from 2 to 6 p.m. Arrangements by Smith Brothers Funeral Home, 545 E. Mercury Blvd, Hampton, 757-723-4117.
